About Los Angeles United States

The City of Los Angeles, also known simply as LA is the second-largest city in the United States with over 3.85 million people. Los Angeles serves as the core, and most important city, of the sprawling Southern California urban area with nearly 18 million residents.

Los Angeles is one of the most important cultural, economic, scientific and entertainment centres in the United States and is one of the most cosmopolitan places in the world. Individuals from virtually every nation on Earth are attracted to Los Angeles for its balmy weather, vibrant lifestyle, unique, high-velocity energy, and the opportunity to realise the "American Dream."

The people of Los Angeles are known as Angelenos but they come from more than 140 countries, and speak at least 224 different languages. Like most areas of California, Los Angeles is subject to earthquakes due to its proximity to the San Andreas Fault and to the smaller San Jacinto and Banning faults in southern California. Los Angeles enjoys a Mediterranean climate experiencing mild, wet winters and warm to hot, dry summers and 325 days of sunshine a year. Due to the geography of the Los Angeles Basin and the San Fernando Valley, air pollution due to smog is a major problem that is made worse by urban sprawl and the heavy use of automobiles for private transportation.

The economy of Los Angeles is driven by international trade, entertainment (television, motion pictures, and recorded music), aerospace, agriculture, petroleum, and tourism. Great restaurants of all types abound in Los Angeles and many celebrity chefs are based in the city, overing food experiences from all around the world. The nightlife in Los Angeles is unmatched with bars, clubs, lounges, and other venues that cater to every taste imaginable.

Nighttime hotspots include places such as Downtown Los Angeles, Silver Lake, Hollywood, and West Hollywood, which is the home of the world-famous Sunset Strip. The Los Angeles area has unrivaled shopping and anything can be bought in the city. Television and film production comprise the largest entertainment industries in Los Angeles but the music business and art being are also huge industries as well.

The Los Angeles metropolitan area is served by more airports than any major city in the world, with 5 major commercial airports and many more general-aviation airports. Los Angeles has one of the largest freeway systems in the world, which handles millions of commuters every day, and an extensive system of bus lines, as well as subway and light rail lines. The Los Angeles County Museum of Art hosts a staggering permanent collection, with works donated by many wealthy LA citizens and movie stars.

Los Angeles is the culinary capital of the US West Coast and the city is at the cutting edge of modern cuisine because of its cosmopolitan mix of people who have brought their foods and cuisines. For sports enthusiasts, Los Angeles offers professional basketball, baseball, hockey and football, allowing fans to cheer in a variety of venues. The Museum of Contemporary Art in downtown Los Angeles features distinctive architecture with pyramidal skylights and a curved parapet that was built to emulate the curves of Marilyn Monroe. Famous tourist destinations in Los Angeles include Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Universal Studios, Hollywood Walk of Fame, and sightseeing tours past the homes of movie stars.

Sheraton Cerritos Hotel Town Centre Review
Los Angeles, United States

4 / 5 Star Rating
Rooms lovely, new modern decor in dark wood. Great to have windows in room that open. No balcony. Bathrooms lovely and spacious. Very clean. Nice staff. Gym has modern equipment with each piece of equipment having individual TV's built into the machine. However the gym only had 2 treadmills, a stepper, 2 bikes and a few hand weights. Asked for Wakeup call but did not recieve call.
